NAGA CITY – The red fighters will continue the reasonable and just armed struggle until the Filipino people have genuine freedom and just peace according to National Democratic Front (NDF) Bicol.

This after the combined forces of AFP-PNP ended the lives of four (4) red fighters of New People’s Army (NPA) in two (2) military operations recently in the province.

“But even we are mourning on their loss, their comrades that they left will assert to continue the fight,” NDF Bicol Spokesperson Ma. Roja Banua said in a press statement.

The first military operation happened at Sitio Mauban, Brgy. Mampirao of Caramoan, Camarines Sur on June 28. Roberto “Ka Obet” Balcueva and Salvador “Ka Cardo” Remoto of Tomas Pilapil Command, NPA-East Camarines Sur were killed because of military siege according to Banua.

Two days after, another 2 red fighters killed in a clash, July 1, at Bgy. San Vicente, Lupi, Camarines Sur. Casualties were identified as Roni Abellada Boncolmo a.k.a Jake, 45 years old and a resident of Bgy. Patalunan, Ragay, Camarines Sur. Ka Jake is the commanding officer of the Komite Seksyon, Platoon 1 of Larangan 2, Komiteng Probinsya 1 of the Bicol Regional Party Committee (BRPC) and another one, identified only as Ka Oris/Ka Cris.

“The deaths of Ka Obet and Ka Cardo were challenge to those who are left behind to continue working on the endeavor changing the present society which does not value human life. While the 9th IDPA is enjoying their empty victory, the people’s blazing fire to fight is rushing through the countryside to the city,” Banua stated.

It was reported that Major General Fernando Trinidad, 9th infantry division commander, was calling on members of the NPA to surrender their weapons and cooperate with the government thru the Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).

However many civilians expressed their condemnation to the E-CLIP program of the Duterte administration, which causes a high number of human rights violations and continues to destroy the livelihoods of farmers in communities.

According to NDF Bicol, E-CLIP is being used as another tactic to stop the red fighters in their fight for genuine freedom and just peace; and only serves as front to accuse civilians as rebels or supporters of NPAs.

“They must remember that nothing can stop the blazing revolution. A few thousand like Ka Obet, Ka Cardo, Ka Jake and Ka Oris will end the chain of oppression and exploitation,” Banua added. (
