AFP 9th infantry battalion abducted 4 civilians in Camarines Sur

RAGAY, CAMARINES SUR – Battalion Commander of 9th Infantry Battalion Philippine Army said their soldiers abducted four civilians early morning, February 9, in Sitio Pulang Daga, Bgy. Baya here according to report.

“According to witness, the civilians were bloody from the torture of the soldiers. The captain [Bgy. Captain Marciana Quinones] negotiated to obtain the civilians but the soldiers [in the barangay] refused,” Karapatan Bikol said in a statement.

The four civilians were Christian Rañon, 34; Boboy Esmero, 30+; Ricky Bendaña, late 20s and Rico Bendaña, 30s, who were supposedly going to slaughter a pig at 5 am.

Bgy. Captain Marciana Quinones asked help from the local PNP office but was told to proceed to the military camp of 9th IB.

Lt. Col. Abella, battalion Commander of 9th IB camping in Bgy. Samay, Ragay, admitted his soldiers abducted the four civilians and promised to be freed the same day.

However, the four civilians are still in the hands of the soldiers according to Karapatan Bikol. (BaretangBikolnon.com)
