Typhoon Urduja has slightly intensified and slowed down threatening Samar Provinces, expected to landfall over Eastern Samar tomorrow morning.
Urduja moves to west at 7kph with maximum winds of up to 60 kph near the center and gustiness of up to 80 kph.
Within 24 hours, there will be a scattered to widespread rains over Visayas, Bicol region, Caraga and Northern Mindanao. Fisherfolks and those with small seacrafts are advised not to venture out over the eastern seaboard of Bicol region and Eastern Visayas due to moderate to rough seas.
On Saturday morning, Urduja will be in the vicinity of Dimasalang, Masbate; Sunday morning at Northeast of Puerto Princesa City, Palawan and at Northeast of Puerto Princesa City on Monday morning.
Signal number 1 is raised in Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Romblon, Eastern Samar, Northern Samar, Samar, Biliran, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Northern Cebu, Bantayan Island, Capiz, Aklan and Northern Iloilo.
Classes still suspended
In Albay, 15,2017 classes Suspended in all levels both private and public schools.
PDRRMC issued suspension of classes in all levels starting 1:00 pm and until tomorrow for both public and private schools province-wide, even in Camarines Sur.
Catanduanes government has suspended the classes in primary and secondary levels in the entire province due to Tropical Depression Urduja this Thursday, Dec. 14.
In Sorsogon province, public and private schools in all levels are suspended effectively today, December 14, until December 16 to anticipate on the possible impacts brought by Urduja.
All DepEd key officials and DRRM focal persons in Masbate are advised to take necessary precautions to prevent damages from possible hazard that may occur during the break, all DepEd properties, vital records, learning materials and equipment should be kept in secure and safe places.
