NPA-West-Camarines-Norben Gruta Command (NGC) launched a tactical offensive against the 92nd Division Reconnaissance Company (DRC) in Camarines Sur in response to the call of CPP in intensifying the armed struggle, amidst rising human rights violations under the martial law of Duterte regime.

On June 22 at about 11pm, the Command Detonated Explosive (CDX) was bombed to the AFP truck in Sitio Castilla, Barangay Napolidan, Lupi, Camarines Sur. The truck was equipped with 1 section from the 92nd DRC and going to Pag-oring, Libmanan, to get reinforcement against NPA tactical offensives in Camarines Norte on June 21.

In the truck explosion, a CAFGU named Hilario Caña was killed while five of his companions were wounded.

“It is evident that although NPA fighters and the equipment are smaller, it cannot be defeated because of its great tactics, territorial validity and warm support from the masses, with its strict adherence to revolutionary principles and practice”, said Michael Robredo, spokesperson of Norben Gruta Command.

Last March 30, 9th ID was suspected in the bombing of civilians in their alleged encounter in Sitio Traktora, Bagong Silang, Sipocot, Camarines Sur. A civilan here died, two were seriously injured and the other one was arrested and was accused as NPA member.

It was followed by series of failed siege attempt on a NGC unit on April 20 in Barangay Bagong Silang, Del Gallego, Camarines Sur, and was followed by another failure because of the tactical offensives of the NGC units on April 21 and 22 in the same barangay.

“This only proves that while the AFP fascism is intensifying, the masses can only lean on its Red Army. It is evident that the NPA is the real army of the Filipino people”, Robredo added.(
